About Raquda Foundation
Our mission and area of work
Raquda Foundation for Art and Heritage is registered as an NGO under no. 3878, in Alexandria, Egypt, by law no. 194 for 2019 concerning Non-Governmental Organizations regulating practicing civil work. Raquda was Established in 2015 to safeguard and preserve cultural and natural heritage sustainably and through communities.
The Foundation’s main area of work is cultural services. Other areas of the Foundation’s work include research services for the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, heritage community engagement, sharing awareness, and capacity building.
Raquda is accredited NGO in the UNESCO, in the Committee of Intangible Cultural Heritage
Activities
The Raquda Foundation carries out a variety of activities related to the safeguarding and preservation of cultural and natural heritage, including:
- Establishment of regional and research projects in heritage and artistic fields
- Establishment of a scientific restoration laboratory for the maintenance and restoration of organic and inorganic effects based on the use of Modern Scientific Methods
- Establishment of archaeological excavators specializing in the preservation of cultural heritage after obtaining the approval of the concerned authorities
- Establishment of a chemical and physical laboratory for the production of chemical and physical materials for the restoration of monuments
- Restoration and preservation of the physical cultural heritage after obtaining the approval of the competent authorities
- Safeguarding and preservation of the physical and intangible cultural heritage after obtaining the approval of the concerned authorities
- Scientific dissemination of material and intangible cultural heritage after obtaining the approval of the competent authorities

Meet our staff!
Radwa Abdelhady
Archaeological Conservator, Founding Director of Raquda Foundation for Art and Heritage
Rawda holds a MA in the topic of virtual conservation and reconstruction of underwater archaeology, from the program of Heritage Conservation and Site Management at Brandenburg University in Germany and Helwan University in Egypt.
She studied archaeological restoration and conservation at the Faculty of Archeology, Fayoum University, and she also studied Egyptology at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University.
Hager Moustafa
Executive Manager
Hager, one of the Co-founders of the Foundation in 2016. Currently, she works as an executive manager of the Administration Department. She has been responsible for educational programs for the children since 2017.
She is also responsible for translating everything related to the foundation`s academic projects. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Alsun, Ain Shams University. She also studied legal translation and the United Nations at the American University in Cairo.
Sara Zakaria
HR Consultant
She works for Raquda since 2019, as an HR consultant aiming to maintain the team work harmony and fill all the HR needs and requirements in a manner that added to both sara expertise and to Raquda.
Gasser Saif
Logistics Specialist
Gasser works in the logistics and organizational departments in terms of using the different techniques needed to implement important projects, such as art exhibitions and other cultural events of the foundation. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University.
Doaa Mahfouz
ICH and Community Engagement Specialist Doaa works on the documentation and safeguarding of the intagible cultural heritage, as she is working on the community engagement activities of the Foundation. Doaa is lecturer of intangible cultural heritage and folk museums
