Raquda Foundation's Commitment to Sharing Awareness
Raquda Foundation is committed to sharing awareness of Egypt’s natural and cultural heritage. The Foundation believes that sharing awareness is essential for the preservation of heritage, as it helps to build a wider understanding of the importance of heritage and to encourage people to take action to protect it.
Recent Sharing Awareness Activities
The Raquda Foundation has recently undertaken a number of sharing awareness activities, including:
- Children’s Program: The Raquda Foundation has been working with children to teach them about the importance of preserving Egypt’s heritage. The Foundation conducts a variety of workshops and activities, such as drawing classes, pottery workshops, and archaeology camps. These activities help to instill in children a sense of pride in their heritage and encourage them to become active participants in its preservation.
- Aslo Iskandarani Initiative: The Aslo Iskandarani Initiative is a program that aims to introduce Alexandria’s tangible and intangible heritage through revealing the hidden stories of its streets and buildings. The initiative offers a variety of tours, including field bicycle tours, marine tours by yacht, and tours of ancient Alexandria.
- Ala El Asl Dwar Initiative: The Ala El Asl Dwar Initiative is a program that aims to raise awareness about heritage and preserving its sustainability through tours to various and diverse heritage and cultural sites. The initiative has organized tours to a variety of locations in Egypt, including Rashid, Burullus Protected Area, Historical Cairo, Portsaid, Dahab, Ras Shaitan, and El Fayoum.
- Our Heritage Program: The Our Heritage Program is a program that seeks to re-read various topics that revolve around architecture and urban planning in Alexandria across different periods and times, from its inception to the present era. The program aims to raise awareness of the importance of Alexandria’s architectural heritage and to encourage people to take action to preserve it.
Sharing Awareness Workshops and Conferences
Raquda Foundation has also participated a number of sharing awareness workshops and conferences. These events have brought together experts from a variety of fields to discuss the importance of heritage preservation and to share best practices.
- Panel discussion of the United Nations World Youth Conference in Sharm el-Sheikh on the role of cultural and natural heritage in climate change mitigation and adaptation
- Let’s know Egypt’s Explore Egypt in cooperation with Raquda Foundation with a tour on Manshiya’s heritage and it’s maritime.
- Intensive workshop on the challenges and opportunities of heritage crafts and incubators and their relationship to sustainable development conducted by the Raquda Foundation for Art and Heritage in cooperation with the Bayt Yakan for Heritage and Arts with the welcome of the Dr. Alaa Al-Habashi Library
